William Puckett

Will joined the WVLT team in September of 2020.

Will is a Senior Reporter for WVLT and anchor of WVLT News at 7 P.M.

In Will's time at WVLT he has been a part of WVLT's coverage of Wildfires in Wears Valley, the shooting deaths of multiple Austin-East Students in the winter of 2021, and numerous other Major stories in East Tennessee.

Will was honored as part of the WVLT team that assisted Brittany Tarwater in the project A Tennessee Waltz: Ray Blantons Last Dance that was awarded multiple Regional Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Awards. He's also a recipient of a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence and a Tennessee Association of Broadcasters Award for Best News Team.

Before coming to WVLT, Will spent three and a half year at WVLT's sister station WYMT Mountain News in Hazard, Kentucky.

During Will's time at WYMT he was awarded multiple accolades including AP awards for Best Political Coverage and Best Sports Reporter in the same cycle and was honored with best reporter by the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.

Will's time in Hazard was highlighted by team coverage of the Black Jewel Coal bankruptcy that left more than 1,000 coal miners across the country without jobs and short paychecks. Plus a one-on-one interview with then Vice President Mike Pence.

Will is married to his beautiful Wife Sydney, they have an adorable Cavapoo named Sunday Grace.

Will is a proud graduate of Western Kentucky University and won't waste any time letting you know that. He also wants everyone to know Big Red is a hill, not a blob.
